SAW duplexers

17 September, 2009 by

Epcos is developing the miniaturisation of UMTS duplexers with filter components for W-CDMA bands I and V in case size 2016 that have a footprint of 2.0 x 1.6 mm2 and height of 0.45 mm.

Power inductor filtering

28 July, 2009

The 1200RS and 1200LRS series of inductors from Murata are suitable for providing power line filtering in low to medium current applications such as switching power supply circuits. An integral ferrite shield makes them useful in designs that are susceptible to EMI.

Network filtering

17 June, 2009 by

Apcon has released an aggregation and filtering solution called Intellaflex, designed to work in conjunction with its Intellapatch series 3000 switching chassis.

EMI filter

01 June, 2009 by

The Schaffner FN 2200 DC EMC/EMI filter series for photovoltaic panels is designed to prevent conducted RF from the inverter, reducing the potential for radiated emission with the PV panels and the wiring acting as antennas.

Protection units

08 April, 2009 by

Bourns has released a range of transient blocking unit (TBU) circuit protection products.

Broadband filter

01 August, 2008

Epcos has introduced the B1642 SAW filter for broadband TV and internet access via cable modems.

Epcos EMC filters

01 August, 2008

Epcos has extended its range of 3-line EMC filters with a series for frequency converters.

Smoke absorber

01 July, 2008

Moulded from a non-sloughing static-dissipative plastic, the Hakko 493 smoke absorber is suitable when soldering static-sensitive components.

Harmonic filters

01 July, 2008

The latest generation of Schaffner ECOsine broadband passive harmonic filters provides a much better use of the power capacity of distribution transformers and networks to increase efficiency to either allow more nonlinear load to be connected to the same system or postpone upgrades to the system capacity.

Distributor of the year award

18 April, 2008

Soanar has been awarded Tyco Electronics 2007 Distributor of the Year, in recognition of outstanding sales growth across Australia.

Converters and filters

10 September, 2007

SynQor has introduced its MilQor range of DC/DC converters and complementary EMI filters that has been designed specifically for high reliability and manufactured in an AS9100B certified facility in the US. They feature QorSeal packaging that ensures survivability in harsh environments and are compatible with the present industry-standard formats but dissipate only half the heat due to their efficiency levels (>90%).

Data protection system

02 May, 2006

BakBone Software has announced a strategy for optimising data protection functionality, called Integrated Data Protection.

D-sub-filter adapters

06 July, 2005

The Wurth D-sub-filter adapters are a ready-made solution to minimising cable-transmitted RF interference.

1 and 2-phase EMC filters for DIN rail mounting

10 May, 2005

The DIN-rail mounting Schaffner EMC filters provide a compact, highly convenient-to-install solution to input filtering requirements of both single- and two-phase equipment making them ideally suitable for SWER supply systems.

Get rid of harmonics before they cost you money

05 September, 2004 by John Thompson, Managing Director, Westek Electronics Pty Ltd

This short technical note is about minimising harmonics; yet there will be those who don't as yet realise the extent to which harmonics cost money
