Smoke absorber

Tuesday, 01 July, 2008 | Supplied by: RS

Moulded from a non-sloughing static-dissipative plastic, the Hakko 493 smoke absorber is suitable when soldering static-sensitive components.

It is designed to remove noxious substances such as salycylic acid, pinene and hydrogen chloride, found in evaporated smoke that is generated during high-temperature, flux-related applications.

The fan is fully adjustable with a noise level of 44 dBA at 2 m with 37 cubic feet/min airflow. Standard activated carbon filter absorbs up to 80% of the odours from the air and is easy to replace.

The 493ESD is mounted on a wire frame, adjustable tilt-stand with rubber sleeves for non-skid benchtop use and comes with three filters, on/off switch and 3-wire cord.
