Network filtering

Apcon has released an aggregation and filtering solution called Intellaflex, designed to work in conjunction with its Intellapatch series 3000 switching chassis.

Intellaflex is a packet aggregator blade that adds aggregation and filtering capability to the company’s Intellapatch series 3000 switching solution. This blade allows users to aggregate multiple data links from network Span, tap or mirror ports, and filter and direct only the desired traffic to specific monitoring devices. Users are able to electronically share monitoring devices (such as analysers) — often across multiple locations — while preventing oversubscription and data loss.

Supporting up to 144 ports in 4U, the blade has a high port density in a single chassis — easily accommodating large enterprises that typically have hundreds of ports and taps in their network. It also has high port aggregation density, with a maximum of 120 1G ports and 32 10G ports in a single chassis.

Intellapatch series 3000 is designed for demanding enterprise data centre environments and offers high-density blades — 1U high with 36 ports each.

Users can now have 144 ports of non-blocking, any-to-any connectivity in a 4U chassis, delivering 100% visibility to thousands of network segments.

A key feature of the series is its fault-tolerant, redundant controller cards. Unlike switches with single controllers that can halt network operations during a failure, the high availability failover capacity allows it to be used inline, in the production network of an enterprise.

The chassis are modular, offering hot-swappable power supplies and field-replaceable fans, as well as hitless software upgrades and a host of diagnostic features.

The switches allow secure, remote web-accessible access for multiple users. Its interfaces simplify the connectivity of Spans, taps and other data sources to monitoring tools.
