The DIN-rail mounting Schaffner EMC filters provide a compact, highly convenient-to-install solution to input filtering requirements of both single- and two-phase equipment making them ideally suitable for SWER supply systems.

The Schaffner FN2412 range of filters have extended current and voltage ranges, simplifying the task of design and installation engineers and often making retro-fitting of filters a straightforward task owing to the popularity of DIN-style boards.

Unimpaired attenuation performance even with high power noise sources such as variable speed drives and under full load current because of the high saturation level of the chokes employed.

Touch-safe terminals make accidental touching of live conductors impossible, and thus contribute significantly to safety.

A sophisticated mounting design facilitates convenient and time-saving installation simply by snapping-in of the filters on the common TS 35 DIN rails. Innovative shaping of the DIN-rail mounting bracket as well as its material guarantee a low-impedance high frequency contact to ground and hence optimal common mode (asymmetric) filtering effect.

The low impedance contact to ground is an important feature because the achievement of effective high frequency earth bonds has been traditionally achieved with bulkier designs. The use of the FN 2412 generally facilitates meeting conformity to Class A conditions.. The new filters are designed for a maximum continuous operating voltage of 250VAC and for rated currents from 8 to 45A. There is also a two-phase version FN 2412H available for higher operating voltages up to 520VAC. The new filters are also available in direct chassis mounting configurations and are called the FN 2410 series. These filters have the same voltage range as the FN 2412 but have an extended current range to 100 amps.
