Meanwell has released the open frame type switching power supply, PSC-60 series, for the security industry.
Similar to the AD-55 and AD-155 series, besides the main output channel, it also has an additional charger output with smaller power rating for security, monitoring or battery backup.
The efficiency of PSC-60 has been improved by 10% over AD-55, so it can work under 70 °C of ambient temperature by only air convection. The series has full alarm signals in compliance with security systems, including AC-OK and battery low alarms.
When the utility is off and the system goes into battery backup mode, a TTL signal is sent to prompt the user to react. If the battery voltage goes to 11 V (for 12 V battery system) or 22 V (for 24 V battery system), an alarm will be sent to notify the ‘battery low’ situation.
The backup loop will be cut off when the battery voltage goes further down to 10.5 or 21 V to prevent batteries from over-discharging. Protection for PSC-60 includes short-circuit, overload and overvoltage protection for output side and battery polarity protection (by fuse) and battery low cut-off for the battery side.
