congatec has increased the scalability of its COM Express computer-on-modules with two entry-level models based on the latest Intel 14 nm microarchitecture. The Intel Celeron processor-based COM Express Basic and Compact modules combine dual-core CPU performance with features such as 4k multiscreen support, high-speed DDR4 RAM with increased bandwidth and four USB 3.0 ports.

The COM Express Compact module conga-TC170 features the 2 GHz dual-core Intel Celeron Processor 3955U with a configurable Thermal Design Power (cTDP) of 10–15 W, which facilitates adapting the application to the energy concept of the system. The slightly larger conga-TS170 COM Express Basic modules are available with the Intel Celeron Processor G3900E with 2.4 GHz and 35 W TDP or with the G3902E featuring 1.6 GHz and 25 W TDP.

All modules support up to 32 GB of DDR4 dual-channel memory, which is said to yield more bandwidth and greater energy efficiency than DDR3L implementations. The Intel Gen9 HD Graphics 510 drives up to three independent displays with 4k @ 60 Hz via DisplayPort 1.2 and DMI 2.0. For Windows 10-based 3D graphics, there is DirectX 12 support. Due to hardware-accelerated encode and decode of HEVC, VP8, VP9 and VDENC video, it is possible to stream HD video energy-efficiently in both directions.
