Friday, 28 July, 2017 | Supplied by: Micromax Pty Ltd

Artila Electronics has launched the RIO-2014PG, a programmable remote I/O module. The module is powered by a 32-bit Atmel SAM4E16E 120 MHz ARM Cortex M4 processor which is equipped with 256 KB SRAM, 3 MB Flash and a FreeRTOS real-time operating system.

The unit features one 10/100 MHz Ethernet port, one RS-232, one isolated RS-485, four isolated analog input channels, two isolated analog output channels, four isolated digital input and two channels of relay, and one 1-wire interface for temperature or humidity sensors. The low power consumption of ARM cortex M4, combined with the high efficiency of FreeRTOS, makes the product a suitable lightweight computing platform for device networking and remote monitoring.

The I/O module is shipped with a FreeRTOS+lwIP board support package (BSP), device manager utility and example programs. Web configuration and I/O controls are available in the RIO-2014PG application development kit. The device manager utility featuring device discovery, network configuration, a users’ web page and a firmware upload is also included.
