Vandal resistant keyboards
Backplane Systems has released Keymat's latest range of vandal resistant keyboards, the Storm 2200 series.
These keyboards have been designed for applications in exposed, unsupervised or public areas.
The series includes versions with a trackball, additional function keys, a numeric keypad or a standard compact version.
Four styles have been designed to cater for the needs of a variety of demanding applications. They have been constructed for use in the toughest conditions and are concisely formatted to avoid an unnecessary array of keys that are rarely required by the kiosk user.
A peripheral step runs around the edge of each keytop preventing the insertion of blades or other sharp implements. This peripheral step protects both the water seals and circuitry from mechanical attack.
The series features a responsive key action ensuring rapid and reliable data entry in tough, wet or industrial conditions. A hardened stainless steel front plate coupled with cast metal or high impact polymer keys ensures the keyboard's resistance to hard use, abuse and vandalism.
