Boston Technology has introduced a 6U CompactPCI universal board incorporating the latest Dual-Core Xeon processor.
The cPCI-6910 improves the performance per watt by 400% over the current Xeon processor to lower power consumption, but it also executes several tasks simultaneously for high-performance, low-power I/O applications.
Two Ultra ATA 100-channels (via a 2.5" IDE HDD interface and type II CompactFlash socket), two serial ATA connectors, one serial attached SCSI connector and one SCSI connector make this board suitable for complex data processing functions with fast data access. It fits a variety of performance-intensive applications by supporting up to 2 GB DDR2 400 MHz registered SDRAM with ECC and providing four gigabit ethernet ports on the PCI Express bus.
The I/O interface offers a variety of options via a PMC slot on the 64 bit/66 MHz PCI bus, four USB 2.0 ports and two serial ports.
