Tailor-made subracks

With the Intertego enclosure system, Bopla in Germany, a manufacturer of enclosure systems and membrane keypads, offers a 'tailor-made solution' by which any 19" mounting rack can be transformed into a desktop enclosure suitable for office use.

Developed as a continuation of the Bopla 19" plastic enclosure system Internorm, this new enclosure system has the advantage of a simple construction allowing fast assembly of the four-part enclosure.

Because stability and screening requirements are already provided for by the card rack, the development priority for the Intertego housing system was creating an appearance that would make it suitable for use in offices.

The lower and upper enclosure shells are offered in ABS (similar to RAL 7038, agate-grey) in their standard version.

The aluminium sides are powder-coated similar to RAL 7035 (light grey) as a standard; therefore allowing the plastic and aluminium parts to complement each other.

The use of profiles as sides allows flexible heights. The sides are available in standard heights of 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 HE. Other specific heights can be created without much effort. With a depth of 300 mm and a width of 84 TE, the enclosure is suitable for Compact PCI Systems with rear I/O (80 mm).

The construction of the subrack allows protection of the electronic components from EMC and IP issues. This is available in the desktop version and requires no modifications. Therefore, the cost for various tests and approvals are only incurred once (for subrack), making this 'tailor-made solution' cost-effective.
