Linear Technology has released the LT3467, a 1.3 MHz, step-up DC/DC converter that combines an internal 42 V, 1.1 A switch with soft-start capability.
Using a constant frequency current mode architecture, the device operates from an input voltage range of 2.4 to 16, making it suitable for single cell Li-Ion, 5 or 12 V applications.
Its internal 42 V switch is suitable for boost converters with outputs up to 40 V as well as SEPIC and flyback designs.
High inrush current is eliminated via an integrated programmable soft-start function and a constant switching frequency of 1.3 MHz enables low noise operation. The combination of its ThinSOT package and ceramic capacitors and inductors results in a compact footprint.
The device incorporates a low VCESAT, 1.1 A switch to deliver efficiencies up to 90%. It is pin-to-pin compatible with both the LT1930 and LT1613, yet offers a slightly higher current limit than the LT1930 (1.1 vs 1 A) and a higher output voltage of 40 vs 34 for both the LT1930 and LT1613.
Quiescent current is 1.2 mA during operation and less than 1 µa in shutdown.
