Ampro Computers has released the 1.8 GHz Pentium M 745 processor on the Epic single board computer.

This extends the existing ReadyBoard 800 SBC to applications that require motherboard-class performance without the larger ATX-compatible footprints.

The board is ready to run for Windows XP and Linux.

At 115 x 165 mm, the board implements CPU and I/O performance in a size that is 34% smaller than the Mini-ITX.

The Intel 82855 chipset is featured, with up to 1 GB DDR 333 SODIMM RAM, four USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports, two serial ports with RS422/485 capability, EIDE, gigabit ethernet, 10/100 ethernet with wake on LAN support, LVDS, eight general-purpose I/O (GPIO) pins, integrated chipset graphics and PCI-104 expansion (PCI bus).

The optional MiniModule ISA card provides a PCI-to-ISA bridge and compatibility with hundreds of commercial PC/104 (ISA bus) I/O cards. Users do not need to install the 1.8 GHz processor, since it is soldered on the board, not socketed.

The board is supplied with a 40 GB hard drive and pre-loaded operating system. Users can get this configured in a variety of ways to meet application requirements.

Options include internal ATX power supply or external +12 VDC or +24 VDC input, choice of 280 x 200 mm or 180 x 152 mm enclosure footprint, choice of RAM size up to 1 GB DDR 333 and hard drives up to 100 GB capacity.
