PLC Peripherals has a range of data acquisition equipment designed for remote or mobile applications, complementing its range of RTP Industrial I/O. The II842 is a small intelligent unit that works in conjunction with the SkyWave DMR200 Inmarsat D+ modem.
This provides measurement anywhere in Australia, regardless of location.
The II842 is designed for vehicle tracking and SCADA applications using SkyWave DMR200 Inmarsat D+ modem. The DMR200 modem is a ruggedised, low power consumption device which is fully programmable.
It extends the functionality of the DMR200 modems, adding software and I/O management. The user can still make use of the full modem scripting facilities for reporting via the DMR200 modem.
The built in firmware is intuitive, having an Event Engine architechture where up to 20 events may be defined. When any of the event predefined conditions become true, they can trigger up to four possible actions. The Event Trigger Conditions can be timers, counters, A/D thresholds, positional alarm transitions, user signals among others (including and/or combinations).
The actions will usually trigger a SkyWave modem message transmitted back to base containing positions information; it is also possible to move outputs, reset timers and increment counters.
The II842 is two-way so it is possible to receive from mobile messages and react on a predefined set of Conditions defined in the Events.
