Turck has introduced the Q10 compact inductive sensors. They are low cost, long range sensing devices that fit and function where standard size units do not.

The one piece rectangular housing offers a sensing range of 8 mm for cold rolled steel as well as aluminium, stainless steel, brass and other non-ferrous materials. This compact package measures 10 mm high by 25 mm wide by 42.0 mm deep.

The fully embeddable sensor can be surrounded by metal on all four sides and still maintain a sensing range of 8 mm without using the space required for a cylindrical sensor with equivalent sensing range.

Two LEDs, power and target present, mounted on the face of the sensor allow good visibility even when fully embedded. The U-Prox technology sensors are weld field immune in both the on-state and off-state, giving improved protection in resistance welding applications.
