LanSafe version 5 power management software has been released by Invensys Powerware.

It supports both Powerware single- and three-phase UPS products through USB, serial and network connectivity options and replaces the earlier OnliNet software product line.

LanSafe helps users better manage their UPS equipment and also measure the return on investment.

The software continuously monitors and automatically notifies users (locally or remotely) of any events. During extended power failure, where battery runtime is depleted, LanSafe saves work-in-progress data, closes applications, and performs a user-defined shutdown sequence.

Features include: stealth mode operation, which enables power management functions to run invisibly to the end-user - especially useful for applications such as point-of-purchase and automatic teller machines, where end-users should not be interrupted by pop-up power alarms; built-in cost savings calculator, which determines the amount of money saved by the UPS equipment due to prevented downtime, as well as provide a tool to measure and justify UPS investment; historical view, which gives an at-a-glance view of a year of power events in a calendar format. This feature allows network managers to see how often a particular event occurs and obtain related details.
