Silicon Laboratories has introduced the latest member of its mixed-signal microcontroller family, the C8051F350.

This integrates an eight-channel, 24 bit analog-to-digital converter with a high-speed 8051-compatible CPU. Available in a 5 x 5 mm package, the device is claimed to be 30% smaller than other MCUs.

Based on the 8051 CPU, the C8051F350 delivers up to 50 MIPS throughput with a 50 MHz clock. The combination of high-precision analog data conversion, high-speed data processing, in-system programmability and small size makes it suitable for precision measurements in weigh scales, process control and smart sensors.
