AeroComm's ZB2430 module, based on Texas Instruments' 802.15.4 SoC & Z-Stack technology, is claimed to be one of the most powerful ZigBee-compliant solutions available.

The module provides OEMs with 2.4 GHz performance in a 25.4 x 34.3 mm package, variable output power 0-100 mW, with either onboard or external antenna.

The device is suitable for power-restricted or battery-powered applications due to its receive and power-down mode performance. Since it works in the ISM band, the module can be used globally allowing OEMs to standardise on one platform for their products. Although the IEEE 802.15.4 (PHY and MAC) and ZigBee stack are industry standards, AeroComm's 'ZigBee Your Way' approach allows OEMs to customise a solution that best meets their needs.

With the embedded Z-stack firmware, the device is built for secure, low-power, mesh network applications. Modules are offered as coordinators, routers or end devices' network scan, auto-configuration, dynamic routing discovery and security.

Developer kits are available each including evaluation boards with multiple configuration options selectable by OEMs to determine the feature set that is best suitable for their application.
