The WS9010 from Wi-Sys Communications is a new combination GPS (L1) and L band (receive) antenna. When used as an antenna with a DGPS-ready GPS receiver like the Trimble Lassen iQ and an Australian DGPS service like Omnistar, users will obtain a reliable positional accuracy of only a few metres.
In simple terms, the higher accuracy position results from the incorporation of GPS correction data generated by fixed GPS base stations and sent via the L Band frequency being incorporated into the normal GPS position calculations of the receiver.
The WS9010 is designed for precision applications in any sector but particularly transportation and agriculture. It is 130 x 28 mm and features a large dual-feed low loss patch antenna, a noise figure of 0.5 dB, 15 kV ESD circuit protection, a high gain two-stage low noise amplifier (LNA) and a ceramic filter. It is available in a fleet-grade low profile, weatherproof magnetic or screw mount enclosure, with a bulkhead SMA connector or with a flying lead, and also available unhoused for embedded OEM applications.
The WS9010 is a high-performance wideband antenna, covering both the L-band downlink frequency band (1530 to 1560 MHz) and the GPS L1 frequency band (1574 to 1576 MHz).
Canadian-based Wi-Sys Communications designs and builds high-performance GPS antennas.
