The SmartStor uses 2.5" notebook hard disk drives and offers 10 to 48 GB storage capacity. The disk drive is mounted in the SmartStor's removable caddy. The caddy plugs into the SmartStor's desktop interface and connects to the host via a USB or 1394A (Firewire) interface.
The device has been designed as backup featuring plug and play operation, hot swappable caddies and can be upgraded by exchanging the caddy's hard disk drive.
