Berkeley Varitronics has released Yellowjacket handheld 802.11b/a/g Wi-Fi analyser and spectrum analyser.

The 802.11 test receiver demodulates, sweeps and analyses all 802.11 Wi-Fi network packets including 802.11b (2.4 GHz), 802.11g (2.4 GHz) and 802.11a (5 GHz).

It is a spectrum analyser (accurate to within +1 dB) that measures RF energy that allows not only detailed interference analysis, but can also see the 'whole picture' of 2.4 and 5 GHz network WISP or hotspot.

When equipped with a BVS DF (direction finding) antenna, it locates and pinpoints rogue APs and STAs and even detects spurious interference from sources such as microwave ovens and cordless phones.

Wi-Fi analysis features such as SNR, multipath, delay spread, channel frequency response allow the device to perform quick sweeps or detailed surveys using only one tool.

Optional Swarm software bundle creates overlays for mapping coverage analysis.
