The Micronica Multiport PCI bus four or eight port universal RS232 adapter is designed to facilitate the connection of dial in modems and terminals in multi-user operating systems.

The board may be installed in any Pentium or other PC hardware architecture compatible systems.

The PnP features let hardware configuration for IRQ and I/O address be configured by BIOS automatically.

Onboard XR16C854 chips each provide four 16850 functions which contain 128 bytes FIFO buffer for each 16850 port.

There are two kinds of board. One is dual speed (clock rate is 7.3728 MHz) with baud rate up to 230 K, the other is an octal speed board (clock rate is 14.7456 MHz) with baud rate up to 1 M.

The card is low profile 3.3 V internal voltage for low power consumption and interface compatible with new generation computer motherboards operating with 3.3 V PCI bus architecture.
