Taiwan alliance
Monday, 12 May, 2003
Two Australian IT security companies, CTAM and Australian Projects signed a memoranda of understanding with Mitac, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company, at a special ceremony convened by the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturer Association (AEEMA) and the Australian IT Security Forum, in association with the Taiwan office of Austrade, at the CeBIT Australia 2003 exhibition held in Sydney.
Mitac is involved in the design and manufacture of electronic equipment, including laptop computers for a variety of OEMs in distribution, particularly in the provision of internet enabling business solutions and in systems integration in the defence, finance, transport and education sectors. The company has created a commerce-based business by integrating its manufacturing logistics operation into an e-manufacturing corporation.
Mr Robinson, Chief Executive, AEEMA said it believed that alliances with overseas industry associations were desirable in response to the challenges faced by globalisation and to changes in the wider economic environment. Such alliances were also an effective means of building commercial relationships between AEEMA members and the members of overseas industry associations.
