QMan 2006 a success
Tuesday, 21 November, 2006
Despite Brisbane's traffic chaos, a steady stream of visitors attended the Queensland Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (QMan) 2006, held from 17-19 October. The exhibition attracted just under 1900 visitors and 94 exhibitors.
The manufacturing industry in Queensland employs 195,000 people and contributes $12 billion to the state's economy, according to the Department of State Development and Trade.
"We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of visitors and didn't see any time wasters," said Brian Laycock of Luna Machinery. This sentiment was echoed by Jeff Condren of SOS Components, who said that he had received a very positive response and had a number of solid enquiries to follow up.
The best stand awards were awarded to Alpha Racking for the best space-only stand, while Fein Australia won best 18 sq m stand and SOS Components won best 9 sq m stand.
Preparations for QMan 2008 are underway; it will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 21-23 October, 2008.
