IDC predicts increase in Australian IT spend
Tuesday, 11 December, 2001
IDC research has shown many Australian organisations plan to maintain, or increase, their IT spending.
Nearly 80% of the Australian organisations surveyed in IDC's Market Sentiment Monitor, planned to either increase their IT budgets, or to maintain the same level of IT spending.
"In the late 1990s [companies] were investing in lots of infrastructure. What is happening now is companies are looking to make their investments work more effectively," said Andrew Milroy, director of software, services and consulting at IDC Australia.
He said the PC and server markets were slowing, compared with growth in software and services.
