Combined attack on serious fraud
Tuesday, 02 August, 2005
AEEMA and the Major Fraud Investigation Division of Victoria Police have signed a memorandum of understanding to help prevent, detect and investigate serious fraud and electronic environment management issues.
This will provide opportunities for both organisations to develop an understanding and appreciation of the environment in which they each operate including privacy, research and development into technology to deal with major crime, and community awareness of how to guard against security breaches.
The organisations are implementing a staff exchange program between the two organisations, specifically the member organisations comprising AEEMA's Asia-Pacific Smart Card and Australian IT Security Fora.
According to AEEMA's chief executive, Angus M Robinson, the MOU will provide mutual benefits for each organisation by exposing key personnel to different investigative methodologies and business practices, helping to prevent, detect and investigate fraud - including awareness of the latest trends in fraud.
