Ceramic Fuel Cells has established a wholly owned subsidiary, Ceramic Fuel Cells (Europe) Limited, initially headquartered in Britain.

CFCL is focussing on distributed electricity generation, particular the micro combined heat and power (micro-CHP) and secure power markets. The initial target markets are environmentally friendly distributed generation for residential houses in Western Europe, Australia and the USA.

Ceramic Fuel was established in 1992 and employs 90 people at its headquarters, R&D centre and pilot manufacturing plant in Melbourne.

The company has developed a solid oxide fuel cell that converts natural gas, LPG, methane and other alternative and renewable fuels into electricity and heat, without combustion or noise.
