"Smart Park" to be Established in Seven Hills
Thursday, 09 November, 2000
The announcement that a cutting-edge technology centre will be built as the core of a four hectare business, industrial and distribution park in Sydney's west is a welcome initiative to help stop local innovation disappearing overseas.
Heeding Federal Government calls that Australia must develop smart new industries to stay world competitive, the Stanton Business Centre will encourage Australian research and technology in an environment that provides a fertile field in which to grow local ideas.
The 32 self-contained units being built within the Business Technology Centre will have copper and fibre optic cabling essential for high-speed communications, and uninterrupted power supply provisions crucial for today's high-tech business.
Ranging from 205 to 500 m², each unit will comprise a climate-controlled office area and an integrated 6 m high clearance space for production, assembly, R&D and warehousing.
When completed the Stanton Business Park will have a value of approximately $53 million and will provide hundreds of job opportunities in various industries ranging from Science to Telecommunications and Electronics.
