Noise XT NXA phase noise analyser

Friday, 30 November, 2018 | Supplied by: Scientific Devices Australia

Noise XT has released the NXA Series fully automated phase noise analyser, which has a frequency range from 2 MHz to 6, 26 or 50 GHz.

Its dual-channel architecture allows the system to use a cross-correlation process to cancel its internal noise floor. Further features include built-in reference source for residual and absolute phase noise testing, single button measurement, residual/additive phase noise measurement, frequency stability (Allan variance and deviation) up to 10,000 s and CW or pulse signal compatibility.

A user interface based on the large 14″ touch screen simplifies the operation, focusing on the measurement result itself and not on the measurement technique. Experts can always access advanced settings for more complex measurement requirements. Quick and easy phase noise plots can be obtained, combining ease of use and good performance.

With its internal frequency references, measurements are made easy without the hassle of connecting cables and tweaking settings. High performance can be obtained by the use of external reference sources like crystal oscillators, SAWs or SLCOs, pushing the instrument noise floor down to the thermal noise.
