Weidmuller has released a range of Wavecontrol current monitoring modules with optional screw or tension clamp connections.

These compact modules are packaged in Wavebox enclosures to give built-in pluggable cross-connector, transparent and hinged front plate, pluggable printed circuit board and labelling options.

Wavecontrol modules are typically specified for monitoring lighting, emergency lighting or motors in a wide range of applications.

Differences or interruptions in current flows in electrical circuits can be identified as malfunctions, allowing specific remedial work.

The Wavecontrol series is suitable for either AC or DC, with modules functioning to transformer or Hall principles - the latter effect being found in semiconductor materials.

The modules can carry out current measurements up to 60 A, with relay contacts or standard signals outputting according to IEC 381-0/(4)-20 mA at 10 V.

The transformer principle is used to measure AC up to 10 A and 50/60 Hz. The module is looped directly into the circuit to be measured.

The Hall principle measures currents from 10 to 60 A, with the circuit wire to be measured being inserted into the toroidal core head of the enclosure.
