NEC has introduced two 15 cm diagonal TFT LCD modules with VGA resolution.
The modules are the latest additions to the company’s range of LCD modules with white LED backlight systems.
The NL6448BC18-01 module is a standard model with brightness of 400 cd/m2 and the NL6448BC18-01F is high-luminance with a brightness of 800 cd/m2. Designed for diverse industrial display applications, the modules feature a white LED backlight system, low power consumption and a slimline package that, while lightweight, is highly resistant to shock and vibration. Incorporating highly luminescent, efficient white LEDs in the backlight system eliminates the need for an inverter circuit, reducing power consumption to 1.8 W with brightness of 400 cd/m2 in the standard model and 3.3 W with brightness of 800 cd/m2 in the high-luminance model, while attaining high density of 140 pixels per inch. Compared with conventional cold-cathode fluorescent lamp backlight systems, this latest technology reduces energy consumption by about 50%. The modules have wide viewing angles of 160° both horizontally and vertically, a high contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a response time of 18 ms.
