Tuesday, 10 April, 2001

Matsushita Electric Company (Aust) Pty Ltd has unveiled its plans to produce lead free soldered printed circuit boards for its locally produced television sets.

The moveto lead free solder was prompted by global concerns regarding the effects of lead in the environment, and the local company decided to take the initiative and convert as soon as possible.

Globally, Matsushita will convert to the lead free solder process by March 2003.
