Resettable circuit breakers

Friday, 28 November, 2003 | Supplied by: Rubin Group

Fitting a resettable circuit breaker, available from Rubin Group, into a vehicle's electrical system gives an immediate protection against fire.

To avoid nuisance tripping, ETA circuit breakers are tolerant of in-rush currents and transients but will operate reliably to protect against sustained faults. The circuit breaker rating can be the same as the cable it is protecting, to provide the dual benefit of improved electrical safety and reduced vehicle downtime.

Type 1610 is small while type 1170 is for heavier duty applications, with full-feature protection and additional manual disconnect.

Both models are available in current ratings of 6, 8, 10, 15, 20 and 25 A for 12 or 24 DC systems.
