Ponovo PSS01 circuit breaker simulator
The Ponovo PSS01 circuit breaker simulator permits the completion of the protective relay testing ‘loop’ by simulating the circuit breaker normally activated by protective relays.
The testing array typically consists of the relay test set, the relay to be tested, tripping and closing circuitry and simulation functions mimicking the breaker. The simulator is connected to the relay test set.
The simulator can operate as a three- or single-pole trip. It can emulate required voltage levels of 220 or 110 DC with a wide selection of tripping delays from 20 to 110 ms and trip and close currents selectable from 250 mA to 2 A.
Closing times can be adjusted from 40 to 240 ms and 12 auxiliary contacts are provided for testing flexibility.
