PB-1000 series of battery chargers

The PB-1000 series of battery chargers is available from Computronics.

The 1000 W unit for lead-acid batteries is available in 12, 24 and 48 V versions.

The charger has user-selectable two- or eight-stage charging programs controlled by an internal microprocessor to charge flat batteries or using a more complex eight-stage charging curve to store more energy into the battery banks.

Two banks can be connected to the unit at the same time. The charger will switch the current between two battery banks automatically to ensure both banks are fully charged and maintained at maximum energy capacity level all the time.

To extend the lifetime of the batteries and to reduce maintenance, the unit has a built-in temperature compensation circuit. An NTC sensor supplied with the charger can be attached to the battery and the output voltage will be adjusted according to the temperature.

Built-in active power factor compensation gives PF \>0.95 which complies with the requirement of EN61000-3-2 prescribed in many countries. Other features include IEC320-C14 AC inlet, power on/off switch with indicator light, remote on/off facility, automatic fan control, reverse polarity, short circuit, overvoltage and overtemperature protection.
