Modular power protection

APC by Schneider Electric has released the Symmetra PX48, the second generation of its Symmetra PX all-in-one redundant power protection UPS system for data centres.

With a 140% increase in power density and increased efficiency, the newest version provides up to 48 kW of protection for 400 V in a single rack footprint.

It offers longer life batteries with up to 25% more run time and hot scalable power distribution.

Operating at 95% efficiency, the unit is based on double converter technology that offers high efficiency in any double conversion UPS, allowing for lower power and cooling costs and the ability to maintain efficiency down to loads of 35%.

It is designed to reduce power and cooling costs through modular scalable solutions. It is a fully manageable component of the data centre and offers an integrated modular design enabling user-configurable power distribution, as well as expansion and servicing without forced shutdowns.

The second-generation 48 kW all-in-one replaces the existing PX 20 kW AIO and the PX 40 kW.
