Mean Well SPB05 series PCB-mounted DC-DC converters

Mean Well has launched the SPB05 series of PCB-mounted DC-DC converters. The series provides 5 W inside the same SIL package as the current 3 W SPB03 device. The volume of the device is about one-third of the company’s current 5 W devices, making it suitable for designs where space limitation is a major concern.

The product has an industry standard pin-out and features 1500 VDC I/O isolation. There are built-in protections against short circuit and overload. Additional features include low ripple noise; a remote on/off control feature; and a 2:1 wide input range.

The wide working temperature range of -40 through to +75°, combined with the fully silicone-potted package, makes the series suitable for use in harsh environments including industrial control, telecommunications and distributed power applications. The series complies with CE and FCC international safety standards.
