TE Connectivity Cloudsplitter connector system

TE Connectivity’s Cloudsplitter connector system delivers Cat5e data performance and up to 250 W of DC power in a single cable, integrating eight signal and two power positions to provide a compact single solution that helps standardise inventory.

The system is suitable for a variety of applications, including audio-visual equipment, industrial equipment, lighting controls, network servers, security systems, set-top boxes and telecommunications.

The system includes surface-mount jacks, cable assemblies, plug kits, tools and bulk cable, and is RoHS/REACH compliant. Cable is available in shielded and unshielded configuration and as preterminated cable assemblies in standard lengths of 2, 5, 10 and 25 m or on bulk reels.

Cable is UL444 compliant and CM rated for safety and components are certified to UL 1863. Electrical characteristics are 1.5 A/150 VAC/DC for signal data and the system provides DC power at 5 A up to 50 VDC over two integrated power contacts. The operating temperature range is -40 to +85°C.

Featuring integrated LED indicators in green/orange or yellow for link activity and network speed verification, the Cloudsplitter SMT RJ45 modular jack accepts either Cloudsplitter or standard RJ45 shielded plugs. It is shielded to provide good signal performance and is EIA 568-C.2 Cat5e ethernet compliant.

Contacts are either copper alloy or gold over nickel finish. The jacks are lead-free reflow solder, capable of withstanding high temperatures, and are available with or without power pins, supplied on tape and reel for high-volume manufacturing. Appropriate crimp tooling is also available.
