Field terminable connector

Molex Premise Networks has released Xpress-Lock - the field terminable MT-RJ connector, designed in accordance with the industry FOCIS intermateability standard (TIE/EIA-604-12).

Termination of the connector takes less than two minutes and requires no special tooling or adhesives. The connector can also be re-used up to 10 times.

The connector is available in OM1, OM2 and OM3 performance variants and colour-coded boots are used to identify the connector performance level. The connector also incorporates a dual strain relief mechanism ensuring good cable retention.

To complement the connector Molex is introducing the shuttered adapter assembly and Xpress-Lock outlet jack for work area applications. The adapter is designed with a built-in shutter that both protects the connector from dust ingress and the user from laser emissions.

The connector is inserted directly into the shuttered adapter assembly and can then be mounted into a variety of wall mount or enclosure products.

The outlet jack contains all the components required to mount an installation in the work area. This kit comprises an MT-RJ connector (male), shuttered adapter assembly and mounting collar for direct placement into wall outlets.

The mounting collar is available in the Datagate footprint and can be used in a variety of Molex wallplate or surface box applications.
