Cabling system for Indian airport
New Delhi International Airport Private (DIAL) has chosen Belden to build one of the most extensive structured cabling systems ever deployed by an international airport in India.
Founded in 2006, the airport is a public-private partnership initiative with a 30-year mandate to finance, design, build, operate and maintain Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
The company is a joint venture between the GMR Group, the Airports Authority of India, Fraport AG, Eraman Malaysia and the India Development Fund.
Working with IBM Global Business Services, Belden identified the key client requirements for limited downtime, location tracking, flexibility (with easy add/remove) and improved maintenance for its LAN set-up.
The Belden solution is copper Cat6 and singlemode fibre cabling with intelligence physical layer management solution (IPLMS) software that will monitor, control and maintain the network infrastructure over the long term.
