ITT Cannon Trident Connector Crimp Contacts

ITT Cannon’s series of Trident Connector Crimp Contacts is now available from element14 Australia. Crimp contacts are said to offer improved electrical performance, strain relief and quality control compared to solder cup contacts.

The contacts have a gold plating, which is said to be preferred for special situations. Gold resists oxidation, has high surface conductivity and has a low coefficient of friction. These features make gold a suitable plating for low-level signals, corrosive environments (for unsealed connectors) and for increased mating cycles.

The contacts use a different base material than standard contacts, resulting in high conductivity. They are recommended for high current applications. The contacts will also reduce the de-rating of connectors with several high current lines.
