ON Semiconductor Strata Developer Studio

ON Semiconductor’s Strata Developer Studio is a secure, cloud-connected development platform that offers a quick and easy way to work with ON Semiconductor evaluation boards and reference design kits, delivering the design information engineers need to start evaluation or design.

The software provides a user interface to development boards, giving direct control of the configuration parameters and visual feedback of the boards’ functionalities. At the same time, Strata downloads all of the latest documentation, product information, design and application notes, and reference design files straight to the desktop.

The product automatically recognises Strata-enabled boards when they are connected to the host computer. Existing Strata-enabled boards include USB Type-C and PD boards; multifunction logic gate solutions; LED drivers; and power devices such as low-dropout (LDO) regulators, DC/DC regulators and adaptive-on-time (AOT) step-down converters. The platform can operate unconnected for use in a lab environment where Wi-Fi may be unavailable and allows automatic over-the-air updates when connected to the cloud, ensuring the materials are the latest revision while notifying the developer whenever there has been a change.

The product is provided as a Microsoft-signed application connecting to the company’s software as a service (SaaS) platform. It features secure authentication, data transfers and full information containment using encrypted and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)-compliant databases. All information and security follows the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity guidelines.
