Ampcontrol expands into the UK and Europe

Ampcontrol has purchased Allenwest Wallacetown, a UK-based company. Allenwest Wallacetown employs 90 people and operates a modern manufacturing facility just outside Glasgow, Scotland.

The company is a designer and manufacturer of flameproof electrical distribution and motor control equipment for hazardous areas. Its major users are the underground coal mines and oil and gas facilities in the UK, Europe, Russia, China and South Africa.

This purchase signals a shift into the core business of energy. With investments in power quality products, green technology and power distribution, the company will be at the forefront of providing the world with safe and environmentally friendly power well into the future.
