Digi International has introduced the TransPort VC7400, an enterprise-class virtual private network concentrator that provides secure connectivity to large installations of remote mobile or wired devices.
It is suitable for retail, financial/ATM, lottery and telemetry applications. Coupled with the company’s VPN-enabled cellular routers at remote sites, the centralised device makes it easy to set up a secure and fully integrated VPN.
The concentrator is suitable for connecting thousands of remote devices using the company’s Connect WAN, ConnectPort WAN and TransPort mobile routers. TransPort supports up to 3000 simultaneous clients and features a 1 Gbps ethernet port, a 4-port 10/100 Mbps ethernet switch (plus 1 DMZ port) and a front panel colour LCD screen for displaying statistical and performance data.
Available in a 2U rack-mountable design, the unit has security including IPSec and SSL VPN (open VPN compatible) using DES/3DES and AES encryption with up to 256 bit key lengths.
Dual-redundant, hot-swappable power supplies are also available. The device also supports high-speed protocol switching of XOT, X.25 and TCP for retail/point-of-sale (POS) applications.
