Bestech Australia has released the Optris LS (LaserSight) infrared thermometer that supports the non-contact temperature measurement of objects as small as 1 mm in a temperature range between -35 to 900 °C.
The instrument can be used in applications like preventive maintenance, quality management, research and development and electronic design and it is an alternative to thermal imagers.
The precision of the crosshair laser sighting indicates the actual spot size at any distance with absolute accuracy. The 75:1 resolution optical performance is a major feature.
Accuracy is to ±0.75% of the reading with a resolution of 0.1 °C. Repeatability is ±0.5% of the reading. The response time is relatively fast at 150 ms for 95% of the signal.
The thermometer weighs 420 g and has a multifunction flip display. It can be powered by two AA alkaline batteries, which gives 10 h of life with laser on, or via USB. The USB interface and graphics with oscilloscope function allow transfer and graphing of temperature with time.
