Tuesday, 08 June, 2010 | Supplied by: Westel Wireless Systems

Decibel Engineering has released a portable transmitter for the Wood and Douglas dVMo wireless surveillance product family.

This family uses COFDM to provide a DVB-T quality video bearer in difficult RF environments such as buildings, car parks and underground.

The unit provides for 10 profiles each containing the core operating parameters of frequency, power output and encryption key. Two models are available, with and without a user control interface.

The transmitter has four different RF output power levels of 10, 50, 100 and 200 mW and can operate in either the DVB-T mode, which occupies an 8 MHz bandwidth, or a 2.5 MHz narrowband mode.

A composite video input (PAL or NTSC) is provided together with a mono, line level audio input and a serial RS-232 data link is also available for GPS or other uses.

Versions operating in the UHF (300 to 360 MHz) band and the S band (2.3 to 2.5 MHz) are available as standard. Other frequencies, including 3 to 3.4 GHz, are available on request.
