ICP DAS ET-2242 Ethernet I/O module

ICP DAS’s ET-2242/2242U module is an Ethernet I/O monitoring and control module that can be remotely controlled through a 10/100 M Ethernet network by using Modbus TCP/UDP protocol. Modbus has become a de facto standard communications protocol in industry and is now the most commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. This makes the module suitable for integration with HMI, SCADA, PLC and other software systems.

The ET-2242 provides 16 sink-type digital output channels, each of which can drive a 650 mA load, while the ET-2242U provides 16 sink- or source-type digital output channels by wire connection and each channel can drive a 500 mA load. There are configurable power-on and safe values for digital output.

With two Ethernet ports, the modules allow daisy chain connection, which permits flexibility in locating devices and eases installation. They feature 8 kV ESD protection, 4 kV EFT protection, 3 kV surge and 3000 VDC I/O isolation to enhance noise protection capabilities in industrial environments.

Each module can be used to create DI to DO pair-connect through Ethernet. After configuration, the module can poll the status of remote DI channels via the Modbus TCP protocol and write data to local DO channels. It is equipped with a removable terminal block connector for easy and robust wiring in industrial situations and features a powerful 32-bit ARM MCU to handle efficient network trafficking.
