Crisp Technologies has announced an industrial ethernet ring switch from Weed Instruments of the US. The product offers the performance features of a managed switch with the simplicity of an unmanaged switch.

The EOTec 2104 comes preconfigured for ring redundancy, offering virtual plug-and-play performance for quick and easy startup and commissioning.

The switch uses self-healing ring topology, featuring the simplicity and ease of operation of an unmanaged switch while providing the benefits (ie, ort mirroring, broadcast storm protection, priority queuing, etc) of a managed switch.

In addition to offering a very fast recovery time (30 + 5 ms/hop) the switch allows for real-time data transfer with IEEE 802.3 ethernet compliance. The device also offers diagnostic outputs for use in the most critical process applications.

Certified for harsh environmental conditions (-40 to +85°C), the switch performs a variety of challenging environments. The switch allows universal redundant power supply inputs of 120/240 VAC, 125 VDC and 24 VDC.
