Vishay CHPHT chip resistor

Friday, 13 January, 2012 | Supplied by: Braemac Pty Ltd

Vishay has introduced a high-temperature, surface-mount, wraparound thick film chip resistor. For down-hole drilling applications, the CHPHT is claimed to be the industry’s first such device to offer an operating temperature range from -55 to + 230°C and a storage temperature range of -55 to +245°C.

Optimised for multichip modules in down-hole drilling instrumentation, the high-temperature capabilities of the resistor allow petroleum to be extracted at deeper depths.

Offered in 0603, 0805, 1206, and 2010 case sizes (with other sizes available), the resistor offers a resistance range from 0.1 Ω to 100 MΩ in tolerances of 1, 2, and 5%; and power dissipation of 12.5 to 100 mW at + 230°C.
