Thursday, 14 January, 2021 | Supplied by: Toshiba (Australia) Pty Ltd

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage introduces the TXZ+ family advanced class, consisting of five groups of 32-bit microcontrollers. The M4K, M4M, M4G and M4N groups are based on the Arm Cortex-M4 core, and the M3H group is based on the Arm Cortex-M3 core.

All groups offer low power consumption and are suitable for a wide variety of applications, such as motor control, connected IoT devices, leading-edge sensing functionalities, etc. The advanced class microcontrollers have a maximum operating frequency of 200 MHz, flash memory of max 2 MB and 12-bit analog-to-digital converters. They are equipped with application-focused peripherals such as high-efficiency motor control engines or rich connectivity interfaces.

The M4K and M4M groups feature motor control hardware and a self-diagnosis function for home appliance functional safety standard IEC 60730. The M4M group also has a CAN interface.

The M4G and M4N groups have a maximum operating frequency of 200 MHz and flash memory of max 2 MB. The M4G has interfaces for high-speed communications, analog circuits for multiple sensor connections and firmware updates for secure processing, while the M4N has various interfaces for IoT devices (sensing and communication) and supports high-speed data transfers.

The M3H group has an integrated LCD display function, a self-diagnosis function for home appliance functional safety standard IEC 60730 and high-efficiency motor controls. It is designed to reduce system cost by reducing the BOM.
