Aviant dual BX Single Board Computer

Interworld Electronics has announced the Aviant dual BX single board computer that features dual Pentium III processor support.

The SBC boasts a stable platform that uses reliable components and supports higher-end operating systems like Windows NT and 2000, as well as 95/98/ME, Solaris, SCO and Linux.

The SBC provides processing power of up to 850 MHz with 100 MHz system bus support to provide stable and dependable performance.

It uses the Intel 440BX AGP chipset and four DIMM sockets supporting up to one GB SDRAM memory. Additionally, the SBC has a DiskOnChip socket that supports Flash Disk up to 144 MB and a C&T 69000 VGA display that supports up to 1280 x 1024, 256-colour mode and 60 Hz refresh rate with 2 MB integrated memory.

The device uses the Intel 82259 fast ethernet controller, and offers wake-on-LAN and modem ring-on capabilities, along with system monitoring functionality.

Integrating these key features onboard eliminates the need for extra add-on cards and frees up slot space for other more specialised feature cards. Aviant Dual BXs Socket 370 for PGA processors showcases newer and more advanced technology that is based on a more versatile and longer-life platform.

The serial ports have two standard high-speed 16C550 compatible UARTs with 16-byte T/R FIFOs. There is one SPP, EPP/ECP bidirectional parallel port. It also has two USB ports for high-speed I/O peripheral devices.

The IR interface is a six-pin header for serial fast/standard infrared wireless communication.

The floppy drive controller is one FDD port that supports up to two floppy disk drives, 360 K to 2.88 MB capacity.
